islet cell tumour
any tumour arising in a cell of the pancreatic islets of Langerhans. These tumours, which include insulinomas, glucagonomas, and somatostatinomas, form one of the two major subclasses of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours, the other being the carcinoid tumours.
